  • Christmas Shortbread!

    Hello everyone,

I don't really know how much this has to do with Christmas but in my opinion I call them a Christmas bake.

These biscuits are shortbread and are really easy to make, they also taste delicious.

    Ingredients:

    125g Butter
    55g caster sugar
    180g plain flour

    Method:

First you will need to heat the oven to gas mark 5 or 190 degrees

Next all you need to do is beat the sugar and butter until smooth

Then stir in the flour, you might find its very crumbly which is good because it is shortbread. But if you keep pressing it together in your hands bit by bit, it will eventually come together into a ball.

You will then need to wrap it in cling film and pop it in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

When you have taken it out the fridge and unwrapped you will need to roll it out. This might be a little difficult, it will keep breaking and it might get a bit annoying but you just need to be patient. If it is too crumbly then wash your hands with cold water but instead of drying your hands just use your wet hands to form it into a ball again, then roll out again and it should look a lot better.

Once rolled out to your chosen thickness you can then just cut it out into any shapes, you might want to use more christmas like shapes then mine or you might want to use normal shapes for any time of the year.

Now you will need to put them on a grease proof tray and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

when cooled you can ice your biscuits, I just used an icing pen that Ii bought from a shop. They also taste really nice if you sprinkle caster sugar on them, but it is totally up to you how you decorate.

I hope you enjoyed another baking post.

    see you next time,

    Bye
    Libby
