  • Running for cancer!

    Hello everyone,

Today will be a short post but I just thought this is my blog why not write about something different. I know that it might no be the best subject to talk about but sometimes you need to talk about these things.

Just over a year ago one of my family members got diagnosed with breast cancer, that family member was my auntie. She had to have a couple of operations to remove the cancer and then they found some more cancer still in the breast but in a different place so that meant another operation but after that it was all removed and luckily it had not spread. So the treatment started with Chemotherapy, this obviously left her feeling down in the dumps but even with feeling ill she still managed to be positive. During chemotherapy she was in hospital a few times due to catching illnesses and this is because when you have chemotherapy it basically destroys your immune system, in the end she could not have her last session because it was effecting her to much by this time she was having an injection called herceptin which I am not 100% sure what it does but it is another step to beating cancer, after all this, begins radio therapy which was straight forward which had no side effects apart from some soreness so it was good for her but now radio has finished and she just has to keep having the herceptin until nearer the end of this year.

To support my aunty and cancer research me and my sister are doing the race for life pretty muddy 5k run. I have been wanting to do a run for a long time now, I have just never got round to doing one and I thought why not do the race for life when it is for a very good cause. Doing the race for life means you can get sponsored by people and the money will go to cancer research UK.

If you would like to donate to cancer research then click on the link below, even if you donate a couple of pounds, it all adds up in the end.
