Cleansing the face!

Hello everyone,

One of the best things to do, when I get home from school/work, is to take my makeup off and cleanse my face.
Today I will talk through the products I use to cleanse my face, all these products are affordable so you can go out and buy these products too.

To start with I normally just get a wipe and wipe my face, just so I don't use too much of my micellar water. Once I have done that I get my micellar water and just put some on a cotton pad and wipe over all my face until all the makeup is gone. Then I apply a tiny bit of Simple kind to skin purifying lotion, which is a cleanser and a moisturiser in one which is really useful. When that is dry I put the Aveeno lotion on which is an excellent moisturiser. Aveeno is what I used to use on my skin when my eczema was really bad and now I use it as a moisturiser and I love it so much. The final thing I do is moisturise my lips by using either Vaseline or The Body Shop bourne lippy.
All of these products are great for sensitive skin, but also dry skin. If you have oily skin I would recommend skipping the Aveeno moisturiser or replacing it with another, less oily, moisturiser.
After taking my makeup off, I love to put my pyjamas on and light a candle whilst either relaxing or doing homework.

These are my favourite pj's at the minute, they are from Primark and the top is Mickey Mouse and the bottoms areHogwartss which I love, the bottoms also feel like tracksuit bottoms which make them super comfortable.

Thankyou for reading this blog post, I hope to see you soon.

Growing long hair!

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to do a post on growing long hair. As you can see in the picture my hair was fairly long, when it was at my back in went to about my waist maybe a little bit lower, however when it was around my front it didn't look as long.
It took me what seems like forever to grow my hair out but realistically, it wasn't that long.
Today I am going to give you some tips on how to grow your hair out, and how not to make it look in bad condition like mine.

Tips:

1. Do not die your hair with bleach! This is my most important one, I used to have just highlighted hair and I then loved the idea of having blonde hair so I asked for it ombre but the hairdressers I went to did it really bad and it ended up looking like a patchy dip die. Also in the picture, you can see the ends of my hair are dead and dry which is mainly caused from the bleach.

2. Brush your hair from the ends, not the root. So this is something I never used to do. I used to brush from the top of my head and it used to pull on my hair a lot. You will notice if you brush from the ends of your hair first, it won't pull on your hair as much, causing less breakage, meaning more growth.

3. Use the least amount of heat possible. This is pretty obvious one. Heat kills hair, even when you use heat protector. When it comes to using heat, I am really good. I hardly ever use heat. I never blow dry my hair because I like my natural hair and also I rarely straighten my hair, because straight hair does not suit me. And as for curling, that only happens on a special occasion, so all in all I don't use heat that much and that has had a massive impact on my hair.

4. Another one you may have seen before, but do not wash your hair every day. When you wash your hair every day it dries your hair out so it starts looking bad condition and also it washes all the natural oils out of your hair which is what helps your hair to grow.

5. Massage your head. One of the biggest things I find that helps with growing hair is massaging your head where your roots are. You can either do it with oils in your hair, or the shower. Either way massaging your head for about 5 minutes circulates your roots and helps the hair to grow more.

6. My final tip is to not put shampoo on the ends of your hair. This is because shampoo is very drying towards hair, so if you put it on the bottom, it again dries your hair out and makes it looks damaged and will be less likely to grow. So if you just put it in the roots, your hair will still be getting a wash from when the shampoo runs down when you wash it off. You then just put conditioner on the ends of your hair because putting it on the roots makes it more greasy.

Cutting my hair:

So in the six weeks holiday, I decided to cut a fair bit of hair off, to get rid of some of the horrible colour and just because it was in really bad condition. As much as a hate the shortness of my hair now, I think the colour looks a lot better. I'm not too sure how much I had off but to me, it seems a lot shorter but it is fairly long, I am now going to try and grow it out but so it looks more healthy and eventually I will get all the blonde cut off.

As you can see my hair looks a lot healthier after I got it cut and also the colour looks a better colour.
I hope you enjoyed the post today and I hope it helped you out a bit. I hope to see you soon.

Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick!

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to be talking about matte lipstick. I mean how have I only just started using it.

Recently I went and bought one of Sleeks Matte Me liquid lipstick in the shade Shabby Chic. This was my first ever matte lipstick because I always thought of them as being very drying however, I was wrong. This particular lipstick is a matte lip cream, meaning it is going to be less drying than what other could possibly be.
The colour is not what it looks like in the packaging as it comes out a bit more of a purple colour than a pink colour but I love it just as much. The applicator was not as soft as I was expecting but then when I used it, the harder applicator made it easier for precision surprisingly enough.
The only bad thing I have to say about this product is that the packaging is a bit boring and plain to what I normally like but for how good the product is I will let them off.

Overall it is a really good product as it has very strong staying power. It lasted me about 12 hours when I put it on the other day, and I had been eating and drinking throughout the day. I would definitely go check these lipsticks out. They have loads of different shades and the shade I have looks super nice, so I would recommend trying the shade Shabby Chic out.
This is what the lipstick looks like on, obviously, the darker you want it the more you put on, but because I never like my lipstick being very out there ,because I am boring haha, I like the only put a little bit on.

I hope you enjoyed this short blog post today, be sure to check out my twitter and I hope you have all enjoyed your summer holidays.

My Hand Luggage!

Hello everyone,

It's finally the summer holidays and that means its the time of year where I go abroad.
This year I am going to Turkey. I go on Monday and as people are going on holiday this time of year, I thought I would do a blog post on what I put in my hand luggage. I don't know if I am the only one, but I never know what to put in my hand luggage.
Anyway on with the post, here is what I put in my hand luggage.

The bag I am using for my hand luggage this year is the Kenneth Cole Reaction bag which just goes on my shoulder.
If you are wondering where my passport is, my parents have that so I don't lose it haha.
When flying you are only aloud 100 ml of liquids in your hand luggage, so I had to think wisely of what liquids I wanted. In the end I went with the Bath and Body Works hand gel in a peach scent (If you are wondering how I got this with me being British, I got it from ebay). I chose hand gel because everyone uses the toilets on the plane and it just helps be feel a bit cleaner. The next thing is a mini perfume from the Body Shop just so I can freshen up when getting off the plane. I then have a vaseline just to moisturise as flying can be very drying, leading on from moisturising, in the little pot of my favourite moisturising cream, which is the Aveeno lotion. I find it is the most moisturising cream I have tried, so I would highly recommend. This is to moisturise my face during the flight.

Going on to the less exciting things, I like to just take a pack of paracetamol in case I get a headache or anything that I need pain relief for. I then also take a bobble with my for if my hair gets annoying because I don't know about you but my hair gets really static when flying aha.
I also take a pack of cards because it helps pass away the time on the plane, another thing that helps pass the time is a book. The book I am taking on holiday this year is called Love Song by Sophia Bennett which I can't say is good yet because I have not had chance to read any of it. Still in the entertainment, I take my ipad so I can watch films and my phone to listen to music and because I don't go anywhere without my phone. I then take my headphones to listen to these things through. These headphones are the make Biensound and I would recommend these at the quality is very good.
I then take my purse with all my money it is, my purse is from River Island but I don't think they sell this one anymore. I also take my sunglasses because when we arrive in Turkey it will be the middle of the day when it will be really sunny. The sunglasses are from Topshop and I love them.
The final thing is sweets, I cant fly without something to suck on when landing and taking off because it prevents my ears hurting.

So that is everything for whats in my hand luggage, I hoped you enjoyed it.

Make-up for glasses wearers!

Hello everyone,

A lot of people wear glasses and a lot of people do not change their make-up for wearing glasses which is fair enough but if you can, changing your make-up for wearing glasses does make a difference. So this post will be the make-up I would wear when wearing glasses and I will give you my tips. Hope you enjoy.

This is the make-up I chose for wearing glasses. Most of it is drug store and cheaper but there are a few high end products which just change it up a bit.
So the foundation is the Rimmel lasting finish in the lightest shade and this is really good because it has a high coverage and lasts a long time on your face, which is very good for glasses wearers as foundation tends to start rubbing off around the glasses so this foundation is great at stopping that. I then use the collection lasting perfection concealer just under my eyes and on any spots or blemishes so this does not really have anything to do with wearing glasses. The next product is the Rimmel stay matte powder which I only put around the nose and frame where my foundation goes because this gives a bit more coverage and then for the rest of my face I used the Rimmel clear complexion powder. Then I just lightly contoured, you don't want to over do the bronzer if you are wearing glasses because you do not want that to be the main focus but what you do want to more heavily apply is the highlighter so I used the collection speedy highlighter on the cheekbones, nose, brown bone and a little on my forehead once that is blended in I go back in with the collection highlight and sculpt palette and with the highlighter palette I just go over the bits I already highlighted just to kind of set it. Next is the brows which need to be defined, brows and lips are the main focus here. So I used the middle shade from the collection brow palette in the blonde shades and just make them stand out more and make them more shaped and defined. So now we are left with the eyes. Personally myself I wouldn't wear eye shadow with glasses seeing as that is not a big focus but if you do then I would go for neutral shades like the one out of the revolution palette which is fully of really nice neutral shades, I then would recommend not using a lengthening mascara as you don't want your eyelashes rubbing up against your glasses so I would choose one that is more thickening like this soap and glory thick and fast mascara which is one of my fave mascaras. Lastly to finish we have the lips. I started with a kiko lipstick in the shade 932 and then topped it with topshops matte lipstick in the shade hazard.

So that finishes the make-up look off.
If you do try this be sure to tweet me.

Hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you soon with hopefully a studying/revision tips post.

Mac- Lovelorn dupes!

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to be a make-up post. A lot of people do not like to splash out on a expensive product and even if they do they want to see how it looks first.
I am going to talk about two dupes for macs lovelorn.
The price range varies, starting from £1.99-£15.50.

So these are the colours on my hand, the first one being Rimmel colour rush in the shade 110 make me blush which is £5.99. This is very moisturising has a strong colour to it and lasts fairly long. It is a bit lighter then lovelorn but then again it will be hard to get the exact colour. I have to admit this is one of my favourite lip products and I need to invest in some more.

The second one is the Mac one in the shade Lovelorn, as many of you know Mac lipsticks have very good staying power even when you eat and drink, so in some ways It is worth paying the price because actually the lipstick never seems to go down. Lovelorn is a lustre lipstick and is £15.50. It was actually my first Mac lipstick.

The last one is from Natural collection in the shade pink mallow, I have to admit it is not the best lipstick but it is only £1.99. You will put it on and within half an hour it will be gone but it is moisturising.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you found it useful.

Running for cancer!

Hello everyone,

Today will be a short post but I just thought this is my blog why not write about something different. I know that it might no be the best subject to talk about but sometimes you need to talk about these things.

Just over a year ago one of my family members got diagnosed with breast cancer, that family member was my auntie. She had to have a couple of operations to remove the cancer and then they found some more cancer still in the breast but in a different place so that meant another operation but after that it was all removed and luckily it had not spread. So the treatment started with Chemotherapy, this obviously left her feeling down in the dumps but even with feeling ill she still managed to be positive. During chemotherapy she was in hospital a few times due to catching illnesses and this is because when you have chemotherapy it basically destroys your immune system, in the end she could not have her last session because it was effecting her to much by this time she was having an injection called herceptin which I am not 100% sure what it does but it is another step to beating cancer, after all this, begins radio therapy which was straight forward which had no side effects apart from some soreness so it was good for her but now radio has finished and she just has to keep having the herceptin until nearer the end of this year.

To support my aunty and cancer research me and my sister are doing the race for life pretty muddy 5k run. I have been wanting to do a run for a long time now, I have just never got round to doing one and I thought why not do the race for life when it is for a very good cause. Doing the race for life means you can get sponsored by people and the money will go to cancer research UK.

If you would like to donate to cancer research then click on the link below, even if you donate a couple of pounds, it all adds up in the end.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics!

Hello everyone,

I said before Christmas that I would do a Tanya Burr cosmetics review post thing so you guys could see the products I got in my advent calender and to see how good they are.

These are the products I got in the advent calendar.
So as you can see I got a different range of products in the calendar.

Compact mirror:

The compact mirror is one of my favourites as I have never actually owned one and they are very handy when it comes to school. It is in the shape of a love heart and is baby pink with little white stars on. One side is more zoomed in then the other to make it easier to see the details.

Lip glosses:

In the advent calendar I got 3 different shades, which would probably the shades I would have picked out if I was in the shop. The first shade is a dark red and honestly it is not as dark as it looks. The second shade is a very candy floss like pink which again is not a bright as it looks if you do not put layers of it on. The last shade is probably my favourite, it is a coral, nude colour and looks very flattering on the lips. Applying the lip glosses are very nice as they have a flat biggish applicator which is perfect to fit your lips. These must be good because I don't wear any other lip glosses apart from Tanya's so I recommend these highly.

Nail varnishes:

The nail varnishes were quiet similar shades, one was a green colour with glitter in and the other was a blue colour with glitter in. I am not going to lie, but I would not wear the nail varnish kn their own, I would prefer them as a top coat to add glitter to it, but it depends on your preference but overall they are nice nail varnishes to add to my collection.

Eye shimmer pots:

These shimmer pots came in a copper shade and a silver shade, there isn't really a lot to say about them apart from the fact they are really really nice and you can even wear them on there own and they look really nice. I really do recommend these.

Nail files:

You can't really say a lot about nail files. What I can say are they are really good for travelling or putting in your handbag because they are mini and have really nice designs on them.

Eyelashes:

I am going to admit I have not tried the eyelashes yet and I'm not really a fake eyelash person unless it is a special event but from what I can see they look really nice and they look like they will suit my eyes. It was a good choice :).

I hope you enjoyed this post, I really enjoyed having s beauty calendar this year and hope to get one again next year.

I have lots of new ideas for blog posts this year so I hope you are looking forward to them.

Thank you for reading.

Love

My 2015!

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a very good Christmas.

Today's post is kind of inspiration from Zoe (aka Zoella) where she summed up her year and all the amazing things her and her friends have done this year but not just that she pointed out some of the bad things that had happened in the year. So I thought it would be a good idea for me to do that, even though I probably did not do as much as Zoe I still think it is a very good idea especially for looking back on in a couple of years time.

So the year started of in January (obviously) when the year started off on a high as we celebrated my sisters 21st Birthday.
Old picture of me and my sister when we were younger
I always find the first couple of months in the year to be a bit boring as you kind of just get everything sorted for the year hence why I did not really do much more in January.

We then reach February which is my Birthday month, which is the 25th, and I still did not do much at the start of February until my Birthday in which I went out for a meal with my family.
Before my meal with the family on my Birthday
March is when the year started going down hill, we had my Dads Birthday which was nice but then come March/April time a relative got diagnosed with breast cancer not just that my Grandad started getting ill.

In April my auntie had a few operations to get rid of the cancer before she started her treatment. Also in April me, my mum , dad , brother, sister and grandma went on holiday to Mablethorpe which was a good break, whilst we were on holiday it was my Brothers 19th Birthday.
Mablethorpe
May came along and I went on holiday with my Auntie and Cousin to Wales, again it was another great holiday.
Wales
Also in May I went to see The Vamps and Union J in concert.

I also went to a safari park.

Now we are in June when it was my Mums Birthday. But also unfortunately my grandad passed away.

Following into July it was starting to come to the end of the school year which I was very happy about but also I went to Paris on a school trip.

Following my trip to Paris I had an operation in my mouth.
Now at the end of July beginning of August I went to Egypt of a family holiday which was amazing.

Also in August (which was summer holidays) I went to Dovedale with the family ( Dovedale is just a place in the peak district).
September rolled along where I started year 10. Nothing else really happened from now until October where I spent halloween with my friends.
When November came I went to see Mumford and Sons in concert with two of my friends.
Before we knew it Christmas was coming around and everyone was rushing around trying to get everything done for Christmas.
On Christmas eve me my brother, sister, dad and cousin went ice skating.
New years was just spent with the family playing games which was a great way to end 2015 and start 2016.

Happy new year everyone and I hope 2016 is a better year.
