Christmas Shortbread!

Hello everyone,

I don't really know how much this has to do with Christmas but in my opinion I call them a Christmas bake.

These biscuits are shortbread and are really easy to make, they also taste delicious.

Ingredients:

125g Butter
55g caster sugar
180g plain flour

Method:

First you will need to heat the oven to gas mark 5 or 190 degrees

Next all you need to do is beat the sugar and butter until smooth

Then stir in the flour, you might find its very crumbly which is good because it is shortbread. But if you keep pressing it together in your hands bit by bit, it will eventually come together into a ball.

You will then need to wrap it in cling film and pop it in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

When you have taken it out the fridge and unwrapped you will need to roll it out. This might be a little difficult, it will keep breaking and it might get a bit annoying but you just need to be patient. If it is too crumbly then wash your hands with cold water but instead of drying your hands just use your wet hands to form it into a ball again, then roll out again and it should look a lot better.

Once rolled out to your chosen thickness you can then just cut it out into any shapes, you might want to use more christmas like shapes then mine or you might want to use normal shapes for any time of the year.

Now you will need to put them on a grease proof tray and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

when cooled you can ice your biscuits, I just used an icing pen that Ii bought from a shop. They also taste really nice if you sprinkle caster sugar on them, but it is totally up to you how you decorate.

I hope you enjoyed another baking post.

see you next time,

Bye

Advent Calendars!

Hello,

It's this time of year again. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone.
So my post today is going to be of my advent calendars, it may just help you decide which advent calendar you want this year.
I have never been one for having more than one advent calendar, I normally just have a Cadbury's one so I have ventured out a little bit more this year.

I'm not going to lie, I have always wanted a beauty calendar and Tanya Burr's products, I just never got round to buying them. Beauty advent calendars can be very pricey but worth the money and when I found out Tanya had one out I was so excited and I literally bought one when I next went to town. It has twelve doors, which I prefer because I am going to open one every other day on the odd days, also I think if you had 24 beauty products it would be a bit too much. Tanya's advent calendar was £25 but has been on offer at Superdrug for £15 which personally I think is a good bargain.
For those who really want to know whats in it, I am not going to show you because I think it ruins the fun of the advent calendar but I will do a post after Christmas showing what products I got and what I think of them.

I think it is a really pretty design, I love how it looks like a house.

My second advent calendar is just a general Thorntons. I am more of a Cadbury girl but I also like Thorntons so I thought I would have something different this year. I thought it was cool how you actually got a chocolate on Christmas day, whereas the cadbury ones only go to Christmas eve.

I hope you enjoyed this post. My next post is going to be a Christmas related post so look forward to that.

Autumn/Winter eye shadow!

Hello,

I have to admit even though I love makeup, I have never really been one for wearing eye shadow or even buying eye shadow. As I am boring I normally just buy a pot of silver eye shadow and just use that when I go out. I never really liked wearing it because I have never wanted to my eyes to stand out apart from my lashes.

Recently I decided to buy an eye shadow palette, now because it was my first palette I didn't want to spend to much in case I still really wasn't one for eye shadow. The palette I chose was the Sleek i-Divine vintage romance palette, it was a reasonable price and I had heard good reviews about sleek make-up. The only reason I really bought the palette was for Halloween because I dressed up as mini-mouse and wanted a purple/pink colour, it turns out it has my perfect choice of autumn/winter colors.

This is the look I went for

I started off by putting the silver colour (surprise!) which is called 'pretty in Paris all over my lid and then ,lightly, I pat the lighter gold colour 'Meet in Madrid', then just on the outer corners blending in I put the slightly darker gold on which is called 'Court in Cannes'. The final part for the lid is just to put some of the matt brown shade in the crease 'Propose in Prague', what I sometimes like to do is get the less sparkly purple shade and put that on the outer corner underneath my bottom lash and if I am going on a night out I will extend that to make it a light wing on my eye.

I thought this would be perfect for autumn/winter because I think the gold matches autumn colors yet because there is lots of glitter in it and some purple it is great for Christmas/winter.

Overall I ended up really liking the palette and I am sure that in the new year I will go out and buy a more expensive one so I can experiment with colors and share them with all of you.

I hope you enjoyed another of my makeup posts.
Thank you for reading,

Autumn outfit!

Hello everyone,

Today a finally have a fashion post. I am going to show you my favorite outfit to wear in autumn. Autumn clothing has to be my favorite because its not that cold that you have to wear a coat but you can get away with wearing jumper and boots.

In this outfit I put on this black and white woolly top which is just a tiny bit over sized which I love because anything over sized is the most comfy and I like my comfort. The top is from new look and surprisingly it was fairly cheap for a jumper. I just pooped this on with a pair of leggings from next which are my favorite because they don't get see through at the bum, also I think bay jumpers and leggings are the perfect match especially when it comes to comfort or just simplicity. I recently got some new boots so obviously I had to wear them but seriously they are so comfy. The last thing I did was put a scarf for those colder days even though its wool and wool its not too bad.
I look so awkward

Just to finish everything off, I like to put my hair in a bun and pull bits out so it looks messy, I like to do this because my hair is a bit lengthy so it keeps it out the way but because I full bits out it just makes it look like your not got any hair and also frames your face. The lipstick I was wearing is Hazard by Topshop which is a really nice colour for autumn especially if you don't like a darker purple shade.

Woolly Jumper - £7.99
Leggings - £10.00
Boots - £65.00
scarf - £6.99
Lipstick - £8.00

Thank you all for reading :)
see you soon

simple jam fairy cakes!

Hey,

I know these don't look the best but they taste AMAZING! They are the most simplest things to make whatever age and they would be perfect to do with children.
This recipe makes 24 cakes so if you want more double the mixture or if you only want 12 just half the mixture.

Ingredients:

225g/8oz- sugar
225g/8oz- Margarine
4 - eggs
225g/8oz - self-raising flour
any flavoured jam

To start off with pre-heat the oven to gas mark 5 I just mixed my margarine and sugar together until creamy (you do not have to use a mixer like mine, you can use a handheld electric mixer or even just a wooden spoon). Next I add in my eggs which I mixed before hand and I add a bit at a time, it will look sloppy and not very nice but then I added flour which makes it actually look like cake mixture.
You then want to put cupcake cases into a tin and add one table spoon of the mixture into to each case after add a tea spoon of jam and then to cover it up add another table spoon of mixture. Now that that's done just wait for them to cook for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Icing ingredients:

Icing sugar
water

I was not sure how much icing sugar I needed so I just added more if I needed it, so you basically put icing sugar into a bowl and added a small amount of water until I got it to the consistency I like it at and then literally just put some on each cake. I then just sprinkled them with edible stars but you can decorate your caked however you like.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you do decide to make these please tweet me a picture of comment on how they tasted.

                                                        bye

Pamper Products!

Hello everyone,

I don't know about you but I do love having a pamper night. My pamper night is usually on a Sunday depending if I'm in the mood for one in the week but Sunday is my main day because I like to feel pampered before the week ahead of me. Today I am going to share with you what I like to do on my pamper night.

Firstly I will go for a shower, before you all ask I would go for a bath but we don't have one, just a walk in shower. I will just wash my hair with my everyday shampoo and conditioner (my favorite shampoo and conditioner is any of the pantene brand) On a normal shower day I would use just normal shower gel but on my pamper day I like to use my Soap and Glory clean on me shower cream, which is the nicest product to use on my skin, I love it. Honestly is lasts forever as well so its defiantly worth the money.

After showering I will go into my room, put some music on and light my favorite candle which is Yankee candle in the scent red raspberry. I then like to apply the Body Shop strawberry body butter which is my favorite scent, that just goes all over my body apart from my face and arms, to which I use the shimmy shimmy shimmer bar from Lush which is very moisturizing. Then for my face I use Boots cucumber face mask which I absolutely love.
Finally when I have finished my pampering I just put a film on, get a cup of tea and chill. I usually do my pampering about 9pm so then by time I have done everything and watched a film I will be ready to get ready for bed.I don't pamper every week because I end up being too busy but then it's more of a treat when I do get one.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Paris!

Hey,

Okay, I promise you that my holidays are coming to an end. I feel like pretty much all of my posts are of me going on holiday. This time I am going to tell you what I did (I only went for 2 nights) and then add some pictures at the end, so its going to be more of a chatty post seeing as my last one was more about the pictures.

Thursday 10th July 2015:

On this date I had to be at my school for 11:45 pm as we would be travelling through the night so when I got home from school that day I planned on doing last minute packing and then going to sleep after my dinner but obviously we never end up doing everything we plan on doing. It turned out that my last minute packing literally was last minute stuff that couldn't really be done until I was just about to leave so knowing that I was going to bed and having to do stuff when I woke up was a bit annoying, but anyway I did the other stuff I wanted to do. After having my dinner I did go to bed about 7/8 pm so I would get a good 3 hours sleep, and of course I did not get that amount of sleep because I was so excited and I only ended up sleeping like 30 minutes before I had to get up so it did feel a bit pointless. When I woke up I just put together stuff like food and medication ready to leave at about 11:30 pm to arrive at school for 11:45 pm.

Friday 11th July 2015:

We left school on the coach at about 12:00am on the Friday as we were travelling to Folkeston(Kent) which took us about 4 hours where we stopped for a bit before the euro tunnel was due. Most people didn't sleep on the coach but for some reason I can fall asleep really easily so for me I would be fall of energy when everyone else is dropping to sleep. I cant remember the exact time of the euro tunnel but it only felt like we were on it for 5 minutes which was not too bad as I was not looking forward to the journey on there as I thought I would feel too enclosed but it really wasn't that bad. When we made it across the channel we made another long journey too Disneyland and again I went to sleep as I wasn't ready to be tired for a day at the park. We got there at about 12 lunch time. The rest of that day just consisted of us going on rides in the park and going in shops and stuff like you would normally do at a theme park.
We met at Starbucks at 6pm so we could all go have dinner together at The Rain Forrest Cafe and after we went on some rides(I'm surprised I wasn't sick).
After a long day we were all tired and ready for a good nights sleep, as you have probably guessed we made our way to the hotel but we didn't actually get to sleep until 12 as me and my friends were, well lets just say we should have been sleeping rather then doing what we were doing haha.

Saturday 12th July 2015:

On Saturday we woke up all refreshed and ready for another long day because we had been told we were staying in the park longer to watch the fireworks. There isn't a lot I can really write for this day because we basically just went on all the rides we wanted to go on and got loads of pictures on the rides at like 10:30 pm we went to watch the fireworks and lasers which were really good and the lights at Disneyland at night were so pretty. That was pretty much the day but we were all ready for another good nights sleep before another day of travelling.

Sunday 13th July 2015:

Again there isn't really a lot I can write because we traveled from like 10am till 8pm but we did stop at a few more service stations this time for lunch and dinner. We were all a bit more alive on the way back and I managed to stay awake most of the time as we were singing and dancing to songs until then I got tired and fell asleep #suprise. When I was asleep it was hard for me to wake up because I sleep deep and apparently my head was out in the isle where everyone could see me so some of my friends thought it would be funny to put stuff on me. I thought no one had seen me but turns out most people (including teachers) saw me.

This was when I fell asleep.

Thankyou for reading this fairly long winded post but I hope you enjoyed it.

West Midlands Safari Park!

Hey,

I know this post is not very interesting but at the minute I can't think of what to do. So I went to West Midlands Safari Park the other month and I had a pretty good time. I didn't get many pictures but I got some.

Sorry it was so short but I hope it was okay.

Wales!

Hey,

Yes, I went on holiday again but this times to Wales. I went to Haven again in Prestatyn which is a very nice village by the sea. I came here about 3 or 4 years ago so it was nice to go back and relive the memories. So here I am again showing you my holiday pictures. Enjoy :)

In these pictures I am doing a high ropes course.
The weather looks really bad and actually it was pretty cold and windy but it was still amazing.

On this park I got stuck because my legs were too small to get over the top.

The next lot of pictures are just pictures of Wales in general and then a waterfall we went to in Betws-y-coed.

Sorry about all the pictures but I felt like there wasn't much to talk about but lots of pictures to show.

Bye,
Libby
